What successful people do differently (You wont guess!)

The most successful people I see in the business world are those who embrace their creativity.

This isn’t about getting tonnes of ideas.

It’s about making creative choices in any given set of circumstances.

The question I’d like to pose, to prompt you to move forward is:

“Are you reacting habitually to the situation, or are you acting creatively?”
Tweet This, if you like it! 😉

The problem is, most people, most of the time, are stuck in a rut.

They embrace their habits, their identity, their way of thinking and way of doing things.

And then they just get more of the same.

Emotions, past-traumas, past-“decisions” keep them trapped in this rut.

And the purpose of the emotional releasing, the energy clearing, and the habit-breaking kick-up-the-ass we get on our monthly mentoring group calls is purely and simply to free you up from these habits and programmes, so we can think better thoughts.

To make more creative choices.

And I’ve only really been able to articulate it through this lens as a result of the most recent instalment of a method acting intensive I’ve been on this summer.
The purpose of the intensive is to help you drop the mind-cabbage and habits so you have the plasticity to inhabit the territory of the character, and then bring parts of you – your emotions, your impulses, you UNCONSCIOUS mind to the character, and live the character THROUGH that fodder.
“Humanity is the clay of our art” said Strasberg – This has been a mantra for the last few weeks for me.

The goal is not to just keep clearing for the sake of clearing.

The goal is to clear anything holding you back – old habits and programmes that are getting in the way of you doing things differently – so you can ACT creatively, and bring yourself to a new experience.
(And I’ve been formulating some more thinking around the work of experiencing new situations, states of being, and emotions, which I’ll share with you through the Wire Yourself for Wealth community in the coming months – all very new and exciting ;)).
I digress.
So often in my work with talented business people, and in my recent work on stage, I’ve been noticing that we are so averse to feeling and knowing our emotions.

We will do anything to not feel….

We intellectualise.
We avoid.
We distract.
We numb.
We shut down.
We make stuff up.
We say we don’t know.

But as an actor, this just isn’t an option.

Particularly not in method.
You need to feel, and to embody that emotion.
Live it, right here and now, on cue, so that you can bring your most authentic self to the work you do.

But this realisation isn’t just applicable on the stage.

It means everything in your daily life, and business too.

Covering up who we are, and what we feel, leads us to disconnect from people.

We step back, rather than lean in.

We hide and play small, rather than feeling the fear and stepping out boldly anyway.

We cut ourselves off from really living.

We try and make smart choices, clinically, from a limited selection of intellectual options in our business, rather than operating through the large gamut of opportunities there are around us.

So here’s my invitation to you now:
What if, you could drop your previously held assumptions about a decision you’ve been trying to make?

Wouldn’t that allow you to see options that didn’t seem to exist before?

You know intellectually that what I’m saying is plausible.

But what if you were to take the time to really live it?

To experience it?

Even if it means stepping on your ego, embracing feeling ‘stupid’, and just getting up and doing something in your business that you wouldn’t normally do.

I want to hear your comments if you’re up for mixing it up, and tell me what you’re going to do differently.

I’m in class again most of this week, but I really do read every comment, so leave me your thoughts below.
I can’t wait to read about your creative revelations, …. and liberations.
Leave a comment below.
And if you ask for my input, I’ll give you my honest feedback from what you share.

Over to you.

Haha, and note the intrinsic creative choice to mail me back even!!

If you don’t normally respond, then maybe now is an opportunity to do something differently and see where it takes you ;))

To Your Creative Success!
